Clan Fraser Reunion 2004
July 24, 2004 was another ideal day to celebrate family. Sunny it was, in the 70s, with just a hint of a cooling lake breeze. The Fraser clan, over 60 strong again, welcomed another Fraser grandson, Don Chapman and wife Irene, from Canada. Don's grandfather was our Uncle Major Fraser, brother to the first David Wallace Fraser. Don and Irene brought with them enough Canadian national flag lapel pins to "pin" each of the picnickers, a great way for them to meet and greet state-side family. Jane's mother, too, was here for the weekend to meet us all. She is spending a few months with Bill and Jane, away from her home in China.
Ellen was in the usual mode of snapping her ever-ready camera for the candid shots she does so well, at the same time helping Ruth, Lynda, Jane, Deanne and others ready tables for the bountiful array of tasty picnic fare. Jack manned the grill again for hots and hamburgers, and the vegetables, fruits and desserts were laid out through the day for snacking.
David had arranged for special clan Fraser 2004 souvenir mugs - with our family crest wound around the almond colored coffee/soup/chocolate mugs - a practical reminder of the day. The first edition of a family newsletter was distributed, evidence once more of Ellen's expertise. Our group photograph again has Oneida Lake in the background.
